The Fountain Court

The Fountain Court near JCPenney is a lively and fun gathering spot. The skylights fill the court with sunshine during the day and dramatic lighting at night. The court features the beloved Richard Szeitz "Fountain of Abundance" where so many of us toss in a coin and make a wish. The donations go to those in need in our region.

Our newest addition is a trio of handcrafted kaleidoscopes. They were designed and built by Rodney Haug from nearby Hawley, MN for the pure joy of seeing something beautiful.

The Maris Court

The Maris Court near Sears features a den-like setting where you can relax and enjoy the aquarium or watch TV. A collection of hand-carved spear fishing decoys of nationally renowned artist John Jensen are on display. Spear fishing decoys were used regionally by the Ojibwe and Lakota during sparse food months of winter. The early Swedish and Norwegian settlers in our region learned the practice from the Native Americans. The utilitarian beauty of the carvers' creations has transformed into folk art, of which John Jensen was a master.
