Feb. 15, 2012 - West Acres will welcome Rothsay, Minnesota based Ole & Lena's Pizzeria to the food court in March. The specialty pizza shop will open in the current Virgo's Pizza location. Cousins Shane Balken and Heather Butler are the proprietors. Construction will begin the end of February, with an opening date set for mid to late March. Ole & Lena's niche is their specialty pizzas, which Balken refers to as the "Finest Norwegian-Italian". | 12/12/2011 | West Acres Donates Over $10,000 to Regional Dollars for Scholars Chapters Fargo, ND December 5th, 2011 - West Acres Shopping Center has donated $10,800 to regional Dollars for Scholars Chapters. Cash donations were received by 17 Chapters in Minnesota and 26 Chapters in North Dakota. West Acres began donations to regional Dollars for Scholars Chapters in 2006. To date, nearly $45,000 have been donated. | 11/29/2011 | Black Friday Brings Record Breaking Traffic to West Acres West Acres Shopping Center saw record breaking crowds on Black Friday with around 80,000 visitors. 33 stores opened at midnight driving traffic early in the night. Good weather also played a factor combined with generous store offers. Many merchants exceeded their sales goals by noon. | 11/23/2011 | 31 Stores to Open at Midnight Black Friday at West Acres West Acres Shopping Center will be buzzing Black Friday with 31 stores opening at 12 midnight. In addition, 20 stores will be opening throughout the night before the mall officially opens at 7 am. Doors will open around 11 pm on Thanksgiving to allow customers to come in from the cold and wait for the stores to open at midnight. "Last year 10 stores opened at midnight to a crowd of excited customers", commented Alissa Sorum, Marketing Director at Acres. | 8/29/2011 | West Acres to donate $5000 to Minot Area Recovery Fund Fargo, ND August 30th, 2011 - West Acres Shopping Center of Fargo is supporting Minot flood recovery efforts by donating $5,000 worth of free tickets to Minot Rising, the upcoming Black Eyed Peas concert for flood recovery on Saturday, September 3. West Acres purchased the tickets as part of their West Acres Cares program.
